DWPS Chartered Surveyors is an independent firm of Chartered Surveyors based from our offices in Retford, Grantham and Huddersfield. We cover a large geographical area and provide a high level of local expertise.
With over fifty years combined experience in residential property, our Surveyors are able to provide detailed knowledge to guide you through the buying process.Why do I need a survey when I am already paying for a mortgage valuation?
A mortgage valuation is not a survey. It is a limited check aimed at confirming to the lender that it is suitable to cover the loan amount. Often reports do not contain repairs that purchasers would wish to carry out as this is not deemed significant enough to affect lending purposes.
Many lenders do not provide a copy of the valuation report meaning that purchasers have no independent confirmation that the purchase price agreed is reasonable, nor the estimated insurance valuation.
Our Service
We aim to provide a personal service and all Surveyors are happy to discuss your requirements prior to carrying out the inspection to advise upon what type of survey is required. Following the inspection, the Surveyor is also happy to discuss his findings and make recommendations to the next steps that should be taken.
